Mark Thatcher, the inventor of the first Teva sandal, first produced his sandals as an alternative to the usual inappropriate footwear used which within the river activity market. The design, a rugged and durable sandal based on quick drainage and comfort, has changed drastically from the original, which primarily did not offer the comfort now provided. The two layered sole, and patented strap system supply the wearer with one of the most suitable and effective shoes for river based activity. Aside from the sandal, Teva has grown to include a full range of footwear.
